Bet of the weekend: HIK Helsinki to continue with great form against Jaro

After a long break I am back with this blog and I will continue picking some good value picks. The only change of tactics is that I will picking fewer picks, with teams or players in good form and only those whom I watched personally. I am also still running a blog at Blogabet.com, but as I have fewer time recently, it lacks some quality and quite often I’ve noticed that I have picked some matches, which are completely against the logic. I will improve on that, but that also means that I will have fewer picks posted there.

Jaro – HIK Helsinki. Betting preview (23/07/2011).

Back to my pick of the weekend. There is one team that brought a lot of profit recently and it’s HIK Helsinki from Finnland. The team in great form recently, with 10 wins out of 10 in Veikkausliga and with 13:0 win over Bangor City in 2-leg tie in Champions league.  At the weekend the play away from home against Jaro team (10th in the league),  who are surely weaker then Inter Turku team (2nd in the league), whom HIK Helsinki won 4:2 recently.

So let’s take a look on the odds, that possess value. It is clear that HIK Helsinki great form will reflect on the odds, as they are known now in Europe gambling society quite well.  Odds surely will start dropping, so it is better to pay more attention to those bets, that posses some value.

Pinnacle

HIK (-1,5)

 1.80  1.925  1.86  1.894 only -1,25 for 1.752
HIK win  1.33  1.33  1.29  1.342 no price
Over 2,5 goals  1.40  1.44  not yet  1.476 only over 2,75 for 1.962
Over 3,5 goals  2.05  2.075  not yet  2.11 2.190

Clearly the value is on -1,5 handicap, meaning HIK will win by 2 goals or more, or value is also on over 3,5 goals. The market on Betfair is yet to be formed, as there are big gaps between Back and Lay, meaning the final odds will be bigger on those outcomes.

I think Inter Turku also looks like a nice bet… They looked hungry for a victory after their’s defeat to HIK Helsinki…

I wonder if you have taken note of hjk’s match on wednesday? Surely they’ll think the international match is more important and may rest some key players.

Yeah, I noticed that HIK are playing Dinamo Zagreb just 4 days after Jaro game… That should reflect on my overs pick, over3,5 goals doesn’t look so tasty now. However I think that HIK will still win and I will only lower my wager on them.

And regarding Inter Turku, it does look like a nice bet today, VPS are rather clueless.

After last comment I rather look clueless, then VPS! ))) Even my main bet on over 3,5 goals won only thanks t the performance of the VPS team! Looks ridiculous VPS – 10 goals in 15 previous matches and now they come up against 2nd team in the league and score 3 goals, with 2 if them playing with a man down, who was sent off in early 1st half of the match…

HIK indeed put a weaker team, without Sadik, Lindstrom and Raifinha. Good decision was to lower stakes and cancel my overs bets in that match.

I think I will keep my faith in HIK Helsinki in Champions league match against Dinamo Zagreb. Odds are big for a home win and that allows to choose from wide variety of other bets, e.g. Draw No Bet HIK or 1X Double chance…
